The $2.1 Billion Regina bypass is the largest infrastructure project in Saskatchewan’s history.  By diverting traffic around Regina, parts of Victoria Avenue East and the Ring Road will last longer, but we have to ask how else this mega-project benefits Regina?

The Global Transportation Hub (“GTH”) is located in the RM of Sherwood and therefore pays no property taxes to Regina City Hall.  The bypass will no doubt benefit the GTH, and the communities to the East of Regina, but we have to be vigilant about Regina’s interests.  Commercial and industrial taxpayers are critical to Regina’s success and any project or effort which draws said taxpayers away from Regina has to be resisted by your City Council.

As your City Councillor, I will fight hard to keep Regina as the premier location for commercial and industrial property users!
